Drainage geonets provide a core structure whose water path and loading conditions need specification. HDPE geonets should be assessed as part of a drainage layer with known adjoining materials. The visible rib pattern is useful for product identification but does not establish flow in every confined installation.
When filtering is included in geotextile composite drainage geonets, both core and fabric need review. This guide introduces the purchasing questions around core geometry, interfaces and discharge. A geonet should not be confused with a reinforcement grid merely because both products have open structures.
Identify the core function
Show the intended drainage direction and position within the section. State what water the layer collects and where it exits. Keep the drain core's duty distinct from reinforcement or filtration. The project reviewer should be able to understand the proposed flow route before considering any offered hydraulic data.
Describe the core geometry
Request the model, dimensions and rib construction represented by the submission. Record roll size and connection guidance. A catalogue pattern should not replace an exact grade designation. When another core is proposed, identify construction differences instead of assuming that a similar appearance establishes equivalent flow behaviour.
Review conditions behind flow data
Ask which loads, gradients and adjoining surfaces are represented. Compare test evidence consistently. Flow in a loose sample is not automatically the design flow of a confined layer. The technical assessment should connect the offered data with the expected installation and service conditions.
Coordinate filtering and outlets
Identify whether fabric is bonded, supplied separately or not required by the approved arrangement. Show joints and collector connections. The entire water route should remain continuous. A good core cannot address an incomplete filter or an outlet detail that leaves the drainage layer disconnected from its destination.
Prepare a layer-specific enquiry
Send Suneco New Materials the drainage section, required core data and joint layout. Ask for the exact offered grade and any accessories. This supports comparison of defined drain cores without using a broad geonet description as a substitute for hydraulic assessment.
