By Sofier

Drainage geonet installation requires both an open core route and the specified filtering at its boundaries. geotextile composite drainage geonets should be placed in the orientation and joint arrangement accepted for the project. A layer that looks continuous from above can still contain an interrupted drainage core underneath.
Drainage Geonets product overview

With double sided composite drainage geonets, each fabric face adds details to inspect around joints and cuts. This checklist identifies work that should be accepted before concealment, leaving exact overlap and connection requirements to the approved model and project guidance.

Check support and orientation

Inspect the receiving surface and adjoining protection requirements. Confirm roll direction and the product's correct faces before unrolling across a large area. Keep identification associated with the laid material. Orientation should be clear on the site details rather than inferred from which side of a packaged roll is easiest to handle.

Inspect core connections

Follow the specified joint detail and check that the drainage route remains open. Examine narrow cuts and changes of direction. Do not assume that overlapping fabrics alone establishes core continuity. Record connection locations for the inspector while the assembly is accessible and before cover obscures the rib structure.

Maintain filter continuity

Treat each required filter face according to its approved joint and edge detail. Prevent soil from bypassing the intended interface. Repairs and supplemental fabric should use the accepted materials. Ask the inspector to review the actual cut and connection details, not only undisturbed factory-composite areas.

Connect collectors and protect the layer

Show how water leaves the core and keep those connections clear of construction debris. Use the accepted cover method and equipment restrictions. A functioning outlet is part of installation acceptance. Inspect the first completed area to identify any movement or damage caused by subsequent material placement.

Retain a useful record

Keep product labels, joint photographs and any repaired locations with the as-built drainage layout. Ask Suneco New Materials for the selected geonet's handling and connection instructions before work begins, enabling the inspection plan to follow the supplied core and filter construction.
