By Sofier

Drainage boards need to match the orientation and surroundings of the drainage layer. HDPE dimple drainage boards can be considered within a defined foundation or landscape section, but a board alone does not create a complete waterproofing system. Start with the water path and the material touching each face.
Drainage Boards product overview

For an assembly including geotextile composite drainage boards, filtering is part of the product comparison. Ask whether it is factory bonded or separately placed. This selection guide explains how to describe the core, interfaces and outlet before choosing a thickness or quoting a wall area.

Distinguish foundation and roof use

A vertical wall layer and a horizontal roof layer can require different details. Show the proposed orientation, water direction and outlet. Do not copy a roof installation detail onto a wall without review. The supplier should understand the position of the drainage board within the actual project section.

Identify the adjacent barrier

State the waterproofing or other protected material and any required separation or protection. A drainage board should not be described as replacing that barrier unless the approved system explicitly does so. Coordinate attachment and placement with the relevant contractor to avoid damaging the adjacent construction.

Ask for applicable core data

Request depth, compression and flow information with its conditions and test basis. A free-draining sample does not reproduce every buried or confined arrangement. The project's reviewer should relate the evidence to the offered model and expected loads, rather than select a board from a headline flow figure alone.

Complete the drainage path

Show bottom outlets, roof drains or collector connections, including inspection access. Identify joint continuity and edge treatment. Water entering the core needs a route out of the assembly. Missing collector details should be resolved before the board is covered, not left to the installer to invent.

Prepare the purchasing section

Send Suneco New Materials the board orientation, adjoining materials and outlet layout. Ask for the exact core and filter construction plus connection guidance. Evaluate offers against the complete layer requirement, separating drainage-board supply from waterproofing, attachment and collector responsibilities.
