Specifying geocell height, opening and infill requires a coordinated view of the proposed layer. HDPE ground stabilization geocells should be identified by their expanded dimensions, not only by the size of the collapsed bundle. Height is one design input and should not be selected as a universal response to traffic or weak ground.
If textured perforated geocells are proposed, texture and perforation should be described independently of basic geometry. This guide focuses on the dimensional brief a purchaser needs, including how cells will be expanded, filled and connected within the layout accepted for the project.
Record cell height clearly
State the accepted height and its dimensional criteria. Ask whether the offered product is the same model represented in the submission data. Avoid ordering by an approximate depth derived from a photograph. If the supplier offers another height, review the consequences for infill quantity, surface levels and construction method before accepting the change.
Confirm opening and panel dimensions
Identify the expanded opening dimensions and panel coverage, including the measurement basis. Geometry should be maintained according to the installation detail. A panel stretched differently on site can create a different arrangement from the one used to calculate quantities. Provide references or a layout method that helps the crew achieve the agreed expansion.
Specify infill as a material
Record the required fill description and any relevant grading or quality requirements from the project. Include how it will be placed and checked. The cell structure should not be assumed to make every available soil or aggregate acceptable. Keep changes in infill linked to the technical assessment rather than treating them as a purchasing convenience.
Coordinate adjacent layers
Show any separation fabric, base preparation and surface material with the cell layer. Identify restraint and connection details. The dimensional choice must fit these interfaces and the finished level. A taller cell offered at a favourable price can still be unsuitable if it changes the accepted build-up or requires an unreviewed amount of infill.
Use a complete quantity basis
Calculate panels and infill from the approved expanded layout, allowing for edges and specified connections. Ask Suneco New Materials to quote the exact height and opening arrangement with required accessories. This produces a measurable order that can be checked against the delivery, trial assembly and final installed geometry.
